At work, at home, in our individual personal lives, our families and in our communities, we're constantly challenged by changes. Even positive changes we voluntarily choose can be stressful. Many changes we experience happen beyond our control. Those changes often cause us to experience anxiety. Some changes involve loss that make us feel down. Sadness, grief, depression or loss confidence or sense of direction in life are often normal responses to inevitable turns in our life journey.

How do some people resiliently navigate life's journey when they are challenged by change, trauma or loss? By using a research-based resiliency perspective, I help people make their experience of feeling lost, helpless, hopeless, struggling and suffering become opportunities for healing and personal and professional growth and success.

Choosing therapy that is influenced and inspired by a resiliency perspective means you are ready for therapy that will be

  • honest
  • driven by what you need, can and are willing to do
  • grounded in the reality of your experience of life
  • strengths-based
  • non-judgmental
  • realistic
  • practical
  • supportive
  • balanced.

Together, we will work with your intrinsic strengths and protective factors in your life -- in your family, work and social environments -- to identify, develop and expand skills and strategies that you can use now and for the rest of your life to experience healing, health, comfort, peace of mind, confidence, fulfillment, happiness and overall well-being.

Part of my work as a therapist is to provide a healing connection -- a safe, therapeutic relationship that is solidly based on trust, understanding, acceptance, empathy and mutual respect. That therapeutic relationship serves as a foundation for you to experience feeling understood, supported and gently guided to new insights and increased hope and confidence. My approach is client-centered, based on what your needs are, drawing from my training and years of experience providing psychodynamic, relational, family systems, cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused and trauma-informed therapy.

We cannot change the past. There may be situations in the present and the future that we have limited power to influence. But, together, we can "do the work" to heal and empower you to make positive, healthy decisions that are good for you and others in your life today and in the future.
